We have many good news reports here at Lower Trinity Corps. And it's all because of the goodness and faithfulness of God. God is so faithful! We give Him all the praise and all the glory for what is happening in our corps!
Heres a brief up-date of some of the amazing things God has been doing in the last several months here at Lower Trinity Corps:
Our corps is growing rapidly, spiritually and in new members. Five new families has been added to our numbers in recent months. Also four new band members has been added to the Senior band, with others learning how to play. We have out grown our present facilities and are planning an expansion. More details on this will be added later.
On May 22nd, a gentleman who had been away from the Lord for several years gave his heart back to the Lord and on May 8th, a lady who had been away from the Lord for 50 years gave her life back to Him. We beleive that several others are under conviction and are about to make a decision for Him.
God is indeed good!
Twelve people saved (a middle-aged couple; an 83-year-old man; a businessman in his 40's; two people battling addictions; and four teenagers).
Reinstatement of a Senior Soldier following her recommitment to Christ, deliverance from addictions, and dramatic physical healing.
20 people completed the10-week
Alpha Course; 55 completed the 9-week
Alpha follow-up,
A Life Worth Living. The focus of our
Alpha Holy Spirit Weekend was a healing ministry supported by a team from St. John the Evangelist Anglican church in Topsail 6 people testified to receiving physical healing during these meetings!
Youth ministry is flourishing. At present, we have 77 in Pioneer Clubs, 27 in Sunday School, and 20 in our
Prime Time teen youth group.
Every second Sunday night, we're having a one-hour
Family Service, followed by a half-hour of fellowship, and then for those who want to stay, a
Praise & Worship Meeting. Response has been overwhelming we've seen many newcomers & our Sunday evening attendance has increased by over 50%!
Guided by a 7-person leadership team, our
Lower Trinity 50 Plus Fellowship is off to a wonderful start, with an initial membership of 25.
Bridges to the community are still being built, and God provided wonderful outreach opportunities for our Community Care Ministry & Band during Christmas. Community Care hosted two Appreciation Dinners for the teachers & staff of schools in our area, as well as two Christmas parties for the seniors at two nursing homes.
The Band played for two tree-lighting ceremonies, five public concerts, and a Special Christmas Ecumenical Service held at the Anglican Church in Heart?s Content. It should be noted that all the churches in our area participated in this meeting, and that during the service, food donations and a freewill offering were received in support of our Christmas hampers!
We continue to thank God for the growing ecumenical spirit we are witnessing among our people and our sister churches in these days!
Special prayer requests
For our youth leaders and teenagers of our area, as we prepare for a special 7-week
Quest outreach aimed at reaching teens with the Gospel message.
For everyone involved in planning for the proposed renovations and extension to our Corps building, as well as for all those who will need to contribute financially in order for this to happen.
For all the clergy of our area, as we formally establish the Lower Trinity Ministerial to further promote ecumenical unity and cooperation among our churches.
On September 5th, 2004, an ex-bandmember, who had been away from the Lord for many, many years, gave his life back to the Lord. His wife had made a first time committment at home earlier.
March 14th, 2004: Before the start of the testimony Three young people came and accepted the Lord as their Savior and later on in the meeting a gentleman re-committed his life to the Lord.
Since the fall of 2001, we've seen several people come into a first time relationship with the Lord. We?ve also seen lives restored. One couple, who were once senior soldiers, had been away from the Lord for over thirty years. This was all because something someone had said to them. After thirty years of hurt and bitter feelings, they started coming out to church again and before long the two of them came forward during the testimony meeting
and made a full time commitment to the Lord. They are now a very active part of our corps. Praise the Lord!
Some men of our Men's Fellowship have started the ministry of home visitation. Recently during one of these visits, a gentleman gave his life to the Lord.
Another gentleman, who had an alcohol problem for years, made a commitment to the Lord and now is a joy to see and hear.
We have a tape TV ministry (Sunday afternoon and Thursday night) During one of these Thursday programs, a gentleman gave his life to the Lord and called some men for prayer support!
Once again we give all the praise to our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ!
Good News Report, May 27, 2003 Last year, a gentleman, while watching one of our programs on television, became impressed with the concern and love shown and realized that this is for real. This gentleman had a big drinking problem. He hadn?t attended church for over thirty years but then decided to come to church to ?check things out?. Since then he attended faithfully every Sunday morning.
Then a few weeks ago he started coming to the morning prayer meetings. On Tuesday morning, as the prayer meeting was closing, this gentleman came forward and asked the Lord to come into his heart! Isn't God good!!
We ask you to keep this gentleman in your prayers as, no doubt, the old devil will put everything in his path to try to get him back
June 15th, 2003, four new soldiers enrolled. Check for photos soon.
July 28th, 2004, an eighty two year man accepted the Lord as his savior, in the privacy of his own home. It's the first time in his life that he's been saved.
All the praise go to our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ
